If you're working in the field and need to measure data on the CAN bus, it's not always necessary to use a laptop, as we carry mobile phones everywhere today. However, you will need an adapter between USB A and USB C connectors to connect the USB2CAN or USB2CAN Triple converter. The application allows setting different bus speeds, supports Listen only mode, displaying RAW data in log form (trace and grid), and also allows decoding data according to EYE files (with some limitations such as multiplexing) and displaying decoded values. Similarly, it's possible to use EYE files for visualizing data in graphs. EYE is a format of the PP2CAN program, in which it's also possible to convert DBC files to this format. CAN bus logs can be saved to a file and loaded later on a PC in the PP2CAN program. Landscape mode is also supported for better data clarity. You can watch a demonstration of working with the program in the video below.
